CzechInvest grant successfully completed — key milestones reached in CK1 inhibitor research

CasInvent Pharma has concluded its CZK 4.5 million Technological Incubation grant from CzechInvest, delivering meaningful advances in compound development and opening a new therapeutic direction in melanoma.

Brno, Czech Republic June 2026 CasInvent Pharma

CasInvent Pharma is pleased to announce the successful completion of its project supported by CzechInvest's Technological Incubation programme. The grant of CZK 4.5 million provided the means to advance both the chemical and biological development of our CK1 inhibitors in a meaningful way, and we are proud to report that the project delivered on its objectives.

Over the course of the project, our chemistry team synthesized and tested a series of novel drug candidates while simultaneously designing and validating a new chemical synthesis route. This route has the potential to be more scientifically robust and more economically feasible for the larger-scale production required in future development stages.

On the biology side: CK1 inhibitors were validated to be active against melanoma cells, including cells that have developed resistance to current standard-of-care therapies. This represents an important step toward exploring new therapeutic opportunities in melanoma treatment.

Beyond the laboratory, the incubation period also enabled CasInvent to expand its expert network. Through CzechInvest's programme, we connected with specialists who provided valuable scientific and strategic feedback, helping to sharpen both our research priorities and our longer-term development roadmap.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to CzechInvest for their investment in this project. We are glad, as their support is providing not only funding, but also a form of stability that allows young companies to take the next step.

CasInvent Pharma is a spin-off of Masaryk University developing best-in-class CK1 kinase inhibitors for treatment-resistant tumours. More information at casinvent.com.
